The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the AV视频 seeks to create impact through sport, by maximising its unique environment every day for every customer.

The Department manages and organises a range of activities under the University’s sports brand - Team Bath - and aspires to create a world-leading multi-sport environment delivering to elite athletes, staff and students of the University and the local and regional community.  Based in the inspiring £35m Sports Training Village, the Department offers a wide range of high-quality sports activities, programmes, events, services and facilities catering for all ages and abilities.

In addition, we are recognised by UK Sport as one of only six Elite Training Centres, providing the training base for around 250 international-level athletes. This is an opportunity to become part of a professional and progressive organisation at the leading edge of sport, health and fitness.

The Sports Grounds person will ensure the effective operation, maintenance and provision of grounds and sports facilities which will include the preparation and maintenance of a range of surfaces and pitches, borders, grassed areas, woodlands, planting and new projects throughout the University.

This role will focus on the University’s extensive sports facilities which include, not only the 11 grass pitches but also its running track, two astro pitches, a beach volleyball area, outdoor tennis courts (including two clay courts) and the iconic Push Start Track used by the British bobsleigh and skeleton squads. In addition, this summer we will be installing a 3G pitch, with sustainable infill alongside a Multi-Use Games Area.

Works will include grounds maintenance - mowing, watering, and fertilizing lawns, Planting, trimming, mulching and fertilizing flowers, shrubs and trees. Cleaning and painting benches, poles and signs. Keeping grounds free from snow and ice.

 In addition the role will ensure that the provision of landscaping services is done in line with our environmental management plan, taking into account environmental and community impact of all works carried out.

You will be able to demonstrate previous experience in similar roles, encompassing sports and general groundsmanship alike. They will have sound knowledge of horticultural methods and practices and skills in operating relevant machinery and vehicles.

They will have an understanding of customer service delivery and experience of working within a team but also using their own initiative.

You will

  • play a key role in assisting the team in providing high quality childcare and education appropriate to the age and stage of development of the children
  • work to maintain a safe, secure and caring environment
  • be required to complete tasks inline with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • maintain children’s records and carry out assessments, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in the Nursery

A core responsibility is planning and providing safe, appropriate, child-led and adult initiated experiences, activities and play opportunities indoor, outdoor and in out-of-setting contexts, which enable children to develop and learn. Importantly, you will support the Room Leader acting as a role model in supervising and monitoring Nursery Assistants, casual workers, students and volunteers. 

You will:

  • be a good team player with sound communication and organisation skills
  • have knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum with the ability to support the development of our children
  • have relevant qualifications (minimum NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or above)
  • be able to work in a team to observe, assess and plan as a key person
  • be able to produce written documentation to support the progress of individual children, being sensitive to their needs.

The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff and external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options.

We currently have two vacancies for a Food & Beverage Assistant. The positions are working 5 out of any 7 days per week on a permanent contract and vary in hours and contract type, so we ask that you note your preference (or state if you are happy to be considered for all) in the supporting statement on your application. The positions available are below:
 
25 hours per week – 52 week per year 

36.5 hours per week – 42 weeks per year* 

*For the 42 week role the suggested (but not guaranteed) non-working period is 4 weeks at Christmas and early January, 2 weeks at Easter and 4 weeks from the first Monday in August.

The roles are at our campus, covering lunchtime service during the week, although evening and weekend work is occasionally required through term time and will be required throughout summer. As a Food & Beverage Assistant you will be required to ensure that the day to day running of the catering operation is smooth and that customers are provided with a high standard of service at all times. Your responsibilities will include taking customer orders, serving food and drink, working on the tills, stocking food stations and assisting with cleaning and clearing tables and catering areas. The successful candidate will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You should be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times.

We are looking for a Cleaner Porter to join our supportive and friendly Campus Service's team on a on part-time basis.  A typical day could include: 

  • Keeping your designated areas clean and tidy 
  • Removal, repositioning and setting up furniture 
  • Emptying general waste and recycling bins 
  • Directing visitors and dealing with general enquiries 
  • Assisting with setting up conference rooms 

This is a crucial role at the AV视频, and we are looking for a friendly and motivated person, happy to work not only as part of a supportive and friendly team but also on their own. You will be expected to maintain an excellent level of cleanliness in order to maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe environment and should have a thorough and methodical attitude to work. Please note, this role involves lifting and carrying. We are open to consider a variety of flexible work options but the typical role hours are 5am - 8am for the 3 hour shift and 5am-9am for the 4 hour shift. This is a part time role working 16 hours per week.
