The Centre builds on the ground-breaking work of the Tobacco Control Research Group (TCRG) to look at the harmful products and practices of major corporations at a global level. Bath’s novel approaches to research, policy and practice within complex systems aims to drive effective action on 21st century public health challenges.

As the most senior non-academic member of the Centre you will be engaged in developing and promoting its strategic vision and managing priorities for activities. In particular you will seek new streams of research grant funding. You will manage the Centre’s day-to-day operations, foster the team culture and lead on engagement with stakeholders. You will line manage a team of senior managers and work closely with researchers, knowledge exchange, communications and administration experts who are engaged across multiple grants in the Centre’s portfolio. 

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis.

With a comprehensive knowledge of team leadership and experience of developing and operationalising strategies you will also have:

Based at the University of Plymouth, you will be supporting teaching in brand-new, purpose-built pharmacy facilities, as well as laboratory and general teaching space across campus and working alongside staff teaching over 4,500 health and social care students in the Faculty of Health. 

You will be part of a team responsible for the provision of 2nd line support for specialist or advanced usage of all equipment, software and services supported by Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) at the AV视频. 

This team is responsible for providing 2nd line field support for all use of IT equipment, software and services supported by DDaT. 

The Senior Service Analyst will work in collaboration with administrative and academic staff in order to offer operational learning technology support and advice, and to proactively support staff in their use of key learning systems and tools (for example Moodle, Xerte, PebblePad and Panopto).

You will act as the point of escalation for incidents and changes and will provide technical leadership and expertise in their area.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term with an expected duration of 24 months.

  • Previous experience of supporting IT or Audio-Visual hardware, software or services (1st and 2nd tier) ideally in an academic environment. 
  • Broad and deep knowledge of current IT technologies and their application in a Higher Education context or similar.
  • Proven experience of supervising or managing and developing an effective team in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of IT or hardware including servers, desktop PCs, laptops and mobile devices 
  • Experience of installing, using and administering one or more computer operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office products and able to provide advice and support on these products.
  • Experience of using email and calendaring software in a business or academic environment
  • IT networking knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a good level of IT literacy with particular experience of using Microsoft Excel and Purchase to Pay systems. They will be highly organised with an analytical approach to their work, and will have previous experience of working within a procurement environment.

The role offers you the flexibility to operate hybrid working arrangements. An office base is available on the University’s main campus benefitting from being closer to the stakeholder operation. Role Impact:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a team of developers to modernise, automate and transform University’s digital infrastructure.
  • Work closely with DDaT Portfolio team and external stakeholders to effective operational IT Service Delivery within your area.
  • Drive strategic HR system enhancements, partnering with senior stakeholders to advance digital innovation across the University.

We are seeking a Programme Coordinator to join the SynHiSel team within the Department of Chemical Engineering!

SynHiSel is a £9Mn, 5-years EPSRC Programme grant led by Bath and involving 6 UK Universities and 12 Industrial partners, with 40 Research Associates and PhD students working on the project. The consortium focuses on creating high selectivity membranes to address global challenges, from removal of carbon dioxide to pharmaceutical manufacturing to cleaning up wastewater.

As Programme Coordinator, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders (current and new) to ensure we have slick, effective and clear communication and management. You will also support the project leadership team in the day-to-day management and administration of SynHiSel.

This position is available part time, 14.6 hours per week, on a fixed term basis until 31st January 2027.

  • Experience within a university environment or areas relevant to the Hub’s target sectors
  • A track record of working in general administration and operational support roles
  • The ability to organise a busy workload using own initiative
  • Experience producing reports and analysing data

We have an exciting position based within the Advancement Office Philanthropy Team. We are seeking a highly ambitious senior fundraiser as Head of Trusts & Foundations. Overseeing the entire portfolio and line managing the Trust and Foundation Manager, you will work as a team to build excellent relationships and raise significant philanthropic support to help us reach our ambitious goals.

The AV视频 is a nationally and internationally leading university that has placed in the top 10 rankings of three major national league tables. The Advancement Office plays a leading role in upholding our reputation for excellence through philanthropic support and partnerships.

As a key member of the Philanthropy Team, you will manage a pool of 100-150 trusts and foundations capable of supporting the University with five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts for areas ranging from student scholarships to philanthropic research

Your background is likely to be in higher education or the not-for-profit sectors, ideally with experience in income generation. You must work well under pressure in a complex, multi-national, culturally diverse environment.

As a Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will have demonstrable success in writing successful proposals, managing relationships, and raising significant philanthropic gifts. Confident and credible, you will know and understand how to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward trusts and foundations nationally and internationally. 

This is a full time Mat leave fixed term position starting Feb 2025 with an end date of July 2026 or the early return of the post holder.
