You will methodically analyse and improve existing systems and processes, ensuring their security and performance. Ensure systems change management is carried out in accordance with agreed standards and procedures, creating and managing software test and development environments. You will therefore design, script, code, test and document the deployment and development of Open Source commercial and custom software using agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered bespoke systems, especially when linking existing systems or providing novel interfaces to existing data. 

You will provide advice and assistance on service and component availability, employ through-life planning models to ensure systems meet business needs and inform customers of supplier product developments and upgrades, advising on implementation. You till developing implementation plans for complex requests for change, evaluating risks to infrastructure integrity and reviewing effectiveness of change implementation. 

Provide and maintain stable HPC and research storage services, ensuring maximum operation of service, alongside providing technical support to the active community of Research Computing users. This would be through technical knowledge transfer, assisting them with utilising the resources, debugging and optimisation, through innovative solutions that enrich and enhance user experience and service delivery. 

Supporting outreach activities to enable exploitation of cloud research services by a broader user-base, represent the University within the HPC community through regional and national HPC centres and the HPC Specialist Interest Group, undertake research into suppliers, markets and product and service categories and overall be a trusted advisor and advocate between IT and key University stakeholders.

In this role, you will lead marketing activities for the Institute under the guidance of the Institute Manager and the wider leadership team. You will be required to develop strong working relationships with appropriate academic and professional staff across the University and beyond, including at senior levels. The post-holder will primarily support the BSc Management and the BSc Management with Marketing degree programmes. You will work alongside two other Placements Administrators, improving efficiency of administrative procedures and managing a diverse workload.

This is a busy and varied role involving daily communication with academic staff, students and current/potential employers, so the post-holder will need to have excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a good use of initiative, have the ability to multi-task and prioritiseand be able to interpret and apply complex information (e.g. assessment regulations).The post-holder must be able to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines on their own initiative, and to learn new systems and procedures rapidly.

The Service Analyst will provide a professional, effective, knowledgeable, and rapid support for all IT and/or Audio-Visual equipment and services (supported by DDaT) to staff and students as needed in the University. 

You will triage, resolve, or escalate support calls within agreed timescales using IT Service Management principles and logging system. You will assist with the deployment, removal and basic maintenance/support of all technology equipment supported by DDaT across all University spaces. 

This role will involve frequent handling of heavy objects/materials and occasional heavy lifting. They will assist with field support for all IT and/or Audio-Visual equipment supported by DDaT. You may be required to respond to urgent requests at short notice and so will need to be mobile across campus. 

Additionally, the role includes providing 2nd/3rd line support for the use of all Audio-Visual equipment, software, and services supported by DDaT, as well as 3rd line field support for all specialist use of Audio-Visual equipment, software, and services. 

Furthermore, the Service Analyst will offer consultation and guidance in the selection, purchase, and installation of all Audio-Visual equipment, software, and solutions. The role also encompasses the provision, maintenance, and support of the Innovations Lab, including training for staff and testing to resolve issues and meet new requirements.

Providing leadership, supervision and guidance to the allocations team, and taking the lead role in ensuring that the student experience meets or exceeds expectation. Ensuring our bed stock of over 4,500 beds is best utilised to deliver user requirements, providing excellent student experience and achieving commercial objectives through the co-ordination and allocation of student accommodation within University managed, and nominations accommodation.

Key to this role is to lead on the development and configuration of our student bed stock management system, including e-portal configuration. Continually reviewing and evaluating existing systems and processes and consider, explore and research innovative alternatives to drive performance, financial sustainability and efficiencies.

This is a full time position, with the option of compressed hours and hybrid working (Minimum of 3 days per week on campus)

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is inviting applications from candidates for the fixed term (until January 2027) Project Manager position for the EPSRC Programme Grant on the “Mathematics of Deep Learning” (Maths4DL).

The Mathematics of Deep Learning (Maths4DL) programme is funded by a five year £3.5M EPSRC Programme Grant Led by the AV视频, the team includes academics and researchers from Cambridge University and University College London. 

Maths4DL is an ambitious programme which will unlock the next generation of deep learning by building a strong mathematical foundation that combines theory, modelling, data and computation. 

In addition to research, the project will feature a co-ordinated postdoctoral training programme, as well as working closely with industrial partners, external visitors, the public and policy makers.

Math4DL is a joint programme run by the AV视频, the University of Cambridge and University College London. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team hosted by all three universities and led by and (Bath), Profs and (Cambridge), and Profs and (UCL).

This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term position, expected to end in January 2027.

You will be creative and self-motivated, with the openness and adaptability to contribute in a wide range of application areas from virtual reality to healthcare.  You will have a strong background in programming and software development.  You should be experienced in and committed to software development best practices and know how to adapt these to research contexts.  You will need to have excellent communication skills and a talent for technical problem solving.

Experience of training or tutoring software development would be an advantage.  This could range from running basic programming, version control and testing workshops, to training and assisting students in the use of specialist tools, hardware and software platforms and methods.
